West Yorkshire Dog Rescue desperately need foster carers for our rescue dogs as we have no kennels. Foster carers are the lifeline for the dogs, and the more foster carers we have, the more dogs we can save.
WE NEED FOSTER CARERS IN THE HUDDERSFIELD, HOLMFIRTH AND BARNSLEY AREAS ONLY
Foster Criteria:
- Live in Huddersfield, Holmfirth or Barnsley areas
- Experienced dog handlers, confident and very patient. True animal lovers
- Never leave the dog more than five hours
- Because we often don't know the history of a foster dog with children we ask for teenage children only and teenage children must be very experienced and confident with dogs
- Fully fenced garden that is very secure
- Lots of time to give the dog love, attention and lots of exercise
- No cats
- If you have a current dog it must be neutered and dog friendly
- Totally committed to helping the Charity by looking after the dog until a forever home is found
Please consider this volunteering opportunity carefully
We need people capable of giving the dogs a real chance and not just giving up on them.
We only rescue dogs with good temperaments but they may have other unknown behaviour problems.
Typically they may chase cats, and until they settle suffer from anxiety resulting in issues such as house training and chewing.
We spend a lot of time supporting our fosters and try as hard as possible to match fosters to dogs.
If you offer to foster - we ask you to show commitment and don't hand the dog back to us immediately something isn't perfect as we have nowhere else to put the dogs.
